Job Description
The Environmental Evidence Synthesis Technician will work directly with project managers on systematic reviews being completed by the Canadian Centre for Evidenced Based Conservation (CEBC) at Carleton University. These systematic reviews synthesize evidence on a variety of environmental and ecological topics in order to answer management questions for federal government agencies. Responsibilities associated with this role will include screening literature for relevance, extracting data from relevant literature, organizing and managing the data using Excel, and contributing to evidence synthesis (e.g., narrative review and meta-analyses). The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, time management, be able to work independently under limited supervision, be able to critically and accurately review environmental research, have an understanding of basic statistics, and have attention to detail. The specific projects will involve interacting with partners and collaborators in Canada and abroad and requires a high level of professionalism and exceptional communication skills. The candidate will also have the opportunity to improve their data management skills, build professional relationships, and work directly on projects that will inform management decisions. This is a great opportunity for a recent Bachelors or Masters graduate.
