Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Fish Ecology and Conservation Physiology Laboratory in the Department of Biology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. The position will provide opportunity to be directly involved in two streams of interrelated program development and research dividing time equally (50/50) between each. The first stream will focus on the development of a new research cluster in Evidence-Based Conservation and Environmental Management bringing together academics from Carleton with partners from federal agencies. The PDF would be expected to assume a leadership role in coordinating the development of the cluster through organization of workshops and funding proposals. The second stream (~50%) would involve conducting research related to fish and aquatic conservation.
Candidates should have an applicable research background to integrate and build on ongoing research objectives of the lab, particularly related to freshwater systems (http://www.fecpl.ca). There may also be opportunity for participation in teaching and mentoring.
The successful candidate will be well-versed in conservation science with an understanding of the science-policy interface and experience with meta-analysis.
