Dr. Cooke was welcomed and entertained by the Biology Graduate Student Society (impressive job by their team!). To engage the diverse audience, Cooke described the interface of physiology, behaviour and conservation through two case studies on bycatch. While on campus, Cooke met with Dr. Mark Poesch, Dr. Keith Tierney, Dr. Bill Tonn, Dr. Greg Goss, Dr. David Zhu and Dr. Mark Boyce – as well as their many talented students. The Cooke Lab already maintains a number of active collaborations with U of Alberta faculty and this trip will surely lead to more.
