Dr. Cooke published an op ed in the Globe and Mail on forgotten freshwater fish in Canada. March 2021.

Following the recent WWF report on the global decline of freshwater fish, Dr. Cooke explains that similar trends are observed in Canada with a forthcoming study estimating 56% of species or specific populations being at risk of extinction. Freshwater fish are often overlooked, yet they are interwoven in the cultural values of so many Canadians.  More information here.
