Making cDNA from RNA isolated from non-destructive gill samples
Cooke lab PhD student Jacqueline Chapman is currently in Nanaimo, BC to conduct work at the Fisheries and Ocean’s Molecular Genetics Laboratory headed by her co-supervisor Dr. Kristi Miller. Jacqueline’s research addresses the relationships between microbial pathogens, fish gene expression, and fisheries interactions in migrating wild salmon using high-throughput qPCR. This work will provide a first look at the pathogenic microbes present in wild Arctic char in Canada.
